In all study rooms:

  • ... entrance is free free for all students, employees and visitors of Mendel University in Brno
  • ... only users with valid reader's card (ISIC, ITIC for external staff it is external staff card...) are allowed to use our services. Registration for students and university staff is free, external users pay 240 CZK.
  • ... you need to know your username and password to login to computers. They are same as username and password to UIS.

  • ... there are copy machines, printers, scanners.
    • Black and white prints and photocopies can be printed in A4 and A3 sizes.
    • Prices black and white 1,00 CZK/A4, 2,00 CZK/A3; colour 5,50 CZK/A4, 11,00 CZK/A3. Double-sided printing counts as two pages.
    • Credit for printing is charged to your ISKAM account, which joins payments for meals, accomodation and printing.
    • Scanning can be done in all studyrooms in Brno and in Library Lednice up to size A3 and it’s free of charge.
    • Ring book binding: in study room and library Z and in library Lednice there is a machine for ring binding. The material (ring back, front foil and back cartoon) is sold by the library staff.

  • ... you can find books or magazines in our catalogue. There you can find more information about location of this document and relevant contacts.
  • ... books can be borrowed for 30 day period with the possibility of two renewings, if the title is not required by other user. Reservation of lent out titles and orders of book from the storage is carried out through the catalogue. Volumes for on site study only are labelled with the orange dot.

  • 3 PCs stations for library catalog searching
  • 2 individual study rooms, 1 team study room for 10 people, 1 team study room for 6 people. Every study room is equipped with PC connected to the internet and the university network. To book the study room use this form.
  • Seminar room with 18 study seats with PCs connected to the internet and the university network. The room is open to use outside the sheduled events.
  • The large study room with 60 study seats and 20 seats with PCs connected to the internet and to the university network, 1 PC is used only for searching the CSN database online and reading czech standards. Softwares MATLAB R 2022a [about], Autocad 2023 [about], ProgeCAD 2022 [about]
  • Self-service multifunction machine for scanning, copying and printing of A3 and A4 formats.
  • Open shelves books.
  • On site loan of educational CD/DVD-ROMs (ask at the circulation desk).
  • Volumes marked in the catalogue as “on site only” can be required one day in advance (theses, selected years of magazines, selected titles of books).
  • Books located in the library storage must be ordered via catalogue. They will be available to pick up the following work day.

  • In the large study room you will find:
    • Open shelves with textbooks sorted in alphabetical order. Loan period of textbooks is one month with the possibility to renew it twice if they are not required by other user. Two pieces of each title with orange dot is determined for on site study only.
    • Self-service multifunction machine for scanning, copying and printing of A3 and A4 formats.
    • Binding machine. The desks and the spine is beeing sold at the circulation desk. The prices vary according to their purchase price.
  • Access to the large study room is also possible on the valid card (ISIC, ITIC, ID card) through the door from the corridor from the library IC.

  • Study seats, 31 seats with PCs connected to the internet and to the university network, 1 PC is preferably reserved for printing and scanning and 1 PC is reserved only for searching in the library catalog.
  • Open shelves of books. Selection of books with themes like economy, management, international trade, statistics, demography, EU, regional development, international relations, sociology and psychology (human resources), law, politology.
  • You can borrow books and textbooks for one month. This period can be extended a maximum of 2 times. Loan period of some books is over weekend and over night(books marked with the orange dot). Availability information of the title and the loan period you can find in the library catalog.
  • Some magazines are available to study on site or borrow for one week.
