Artificial intelligence and qualification work
The MENDELU Library has issued a recommendation entitled Declaring the use of artificial intelligence tools in student work. The aim of the document is to provide support to students and supervisors of seminar and qualification papers regarding the use of AI tools and their reporting in student works. It addresses which types of AI tools need to be declared and which do not, and provides guidance on how to do it practically. Several possible solutions are suggested, but at the same time enough space is left for the authors to apply their own solutions if they are better suited to the specifics of the area under study.
The recommendation is in accordance with the Rector's Directive 2/2021 - Prevention and Detection of Plagiarism, The standpoint of Mendel University in Brno on the use of artificial intelligence and Principles of Artificial Intelligence Utilization at Mendel University in Brno and its Czech version was approved by the Chancellor's Commission for Educational Activities of Mendel university in Brno on 20 March 2024.
