ISIC
ISIC (International Student Identity Card) is the only globally recognized proof of student status for high schools, colleges, and universities and selected one-year post-secondary fields of study. This card has been issued on behalf of the globally run ISIC Association under the auspices of UNESCO for more than 65 years!
MENDELU issues full-time students with an ISIC card, which is also a student card at MENDELU and is also valid as an international student card. Students of combined study who are not entitled to obtain an ISIC card are issued a MENDELU student card or an ALIVE - student card. For both of these cards, personal data is passed on to another entity to verify the identity of the holder by the discount providers.
What does a student with an ISIC card have access to?
At the university:

to eat in the canteen - after depositing financial amounts on the card and to pay for food,
-
to the services of the Central Library and the Information Center (book lending, script),
-
to enter the room (classrooms) protected by the access system to which the student has authorized access,
-
at the entrance to the MENDELU dormitories,
-
to enter the arboretum.
Outside the university:
-
to purchase discounted fares not only in urban and domestic transport but also in the world,
-
to apply discounts within the Czech Republic and abroad. You can find their list at www.isic.cz.
Validity of ISIC card
It is limited in time, from 1 September of the given year to 31 December of the following year. In the second and next year of study, it will be extended with a revalidation stamp, which you can order at UIS in the student portal in the Orders application (green basket), pay for it, and pick it up at your study department. The study assistant also updates the validity of the card in UIS when selling the stamp. The renewal of the card is then transferred to the national database of valid ISIC / ITIC / ALIVE cards, which is used to verify the validity of ISIC at discount providers.
ALIVE student
ALIVE is an identification card for students of combined or other non-attendance forms of study, non-teaching staff of schools, and graduates of selected cooperating schools and universities. Holders of the card can use a program full of benefits and discounts throughout the Czech Republic.
Advantages of ALIVE student card
ALIVE brings its holders an extensive network of benefits throughout the Czech Republic, including insurance, transport, sports equipment, restaurants, cafes, admission to cultural events, season tickets in ski resorts and much more.
ALIVE inside MENDELU works in the same way as a student card and an ISIC card for entering classrooms, for the canteen, library, copying, etc.).
Validity of ALIVE student card
ALIVE is valid for a maximum of 16 months, resp. always from 1 September (beginning of the school year) to 31 December of the following year. Like the ISIC card, it is extended with a revalidation stamp.
MENDELU student card
Cars issued to all MENDELU students who are not entitled or do not want an ISIC / ALIVE card (standard combined and distance study). With this card, the personal data of the card holder are not passed on to other entities and remain at the university. On the other hand, there are no discounts or other benefits attached to the MENDELU student card.
