Ethics and Integrity at Mendel University in Brno

Creating awareness of the ethical aspects of research is crucial for the development of science with respect for people and society. As a university, we are aware of our responsibilities in this area and strive to be a model of good practice.

The aim of the ethics committees at Mendel University in Brno is to provide support to researchers in consulting and approving ethical aspects of research project proposals. The committees also aim to improve awareness of and compliance with ethical standards in research.

Training on Ethical Aspects of Research with Human Subjects was held on 8. 12. 2023, another seminar on publishing ethics followed on 15. 12. 2023.

Academic integrity

Mendel University in Brno, together with other public universities, regularly participates in centralized development projects of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, whose aim is to map the current state of ethical conduct in the Czech academic environment, to support non-trivialized perception of the topic by the academic and wider public, to formulate recommendations for systemic policies and to propose didactic tools for the development of widely perceived academic integrity. Mendel University in Brno perceives artificial intelligence tools as an opportunity for the development of a knowledge-based society, an opportunity to develop universities as centres of education, the development of creative activity and the practical application of new knowledge.
