Affiliation

 

Thanks to the correct affiliation, the author can be better searched (without confusion) and the institution's publications can be found in the evaluation databases (WoS, Scopus, InCites).

We recommend:

  • using the full affiliation, without shortening names, without abbreviations
  • using the correct english name of the faculty and department (can be found on the english version of the MENDELU website)
  • not to include research group names in the affiliation
  • not to put more organizations into one affiliation

 

Correctly used affiliation

It is recommended to use the affiliation in this order: UNIVERSITY – FACULTY – DEPARTMENT

It is also possible to use the affiliation in this order: DEPARTMENT – FACULTY – UNIVERSITY

Example of correctly used affiliation in Czech:

Mendelova univerzita v Brně, Agronomická fakulta, Ústav technologie potravin

Example of correctly used affiliation in English:

Mendel University in Brno, Faculty of AgriSciences, Department of Food Technology

 

Incorrectly used affiliation

Incomplete affiliation

Department of Food Technology, Zemědělská 1, Brno 613 00

– the name of the university and the faculty is missing

 

Inappropriate use of abbreviations

PEF MENDELU in Brno

– it should be: Mendel University in Brno, Faculty of Business and Economics, Name of the Department

 

The name of the university and the faculty is wrong

Department of Environmentalistic and Natural Resources, Faculty of Regional Development and Territorial Studies

– it should be: Faculty of Regional Development and International Studies

 

Consequences of incorrect affiliation

  • all the publications of the institution cannot be found in the evaluation databases (WoS, Scopus, InCites)
  • the evaluation metrics of the institution are lower compared to other organizations (in SCImago Institutions Rankings, InCites)
