Open Access Week

The main idea of Open Access Week to promote  Open Access of the scientific research outputs. Events, which usually take place in October, contain film screenings, lectures, exhibitions and other educational activities. Every Open Access Week has its motto. The motto of 2019 was: Open for Whom? Equity in Open Knowledge.

International Open Access Week aims to:

• open access, open data and open education for all in the world
• encourage the adoption of the Open Access policy by universities and institutions involved
• support the preparation and development of principles and measures for the Open Access policy of research institutions/universities
• accelerate the access to research results and support research
• broaden awareness of the benefits of Open Access
• financially support students regarding scholarships
• support young researchers
