Fund for Open Access publishing

1 million CZK has been allocated for 2024 to support Open Access publishing

For whom is the support from the Fund intended?

  • for academic and scientific staff and doctoral students of the university
  • the main condition: the first or corresponding author must have an affiliation of Mendel University in Brno.
  • If a doctoral student of the university is not one of the authors, support from the fund is reduced by half

The main conditions for using the Fund:

  • the support is intended primarily for publications, where project funding cannot be used for APC payment
  • maximum financial support for one article is 50 000 CZK including VAT (higher fees must be co-financed from the university resources). Without specifying the source of co-financing, the application will not be evaluated.
  • support can be requested for articles that have been/will be published in 2024 with a 2024 due date or successfully accepted for publication in 2024.
  • One applicant can apply for a maximum of three publications.
  • Support is not granted to articles in journals published by MDPI. 

The journal in which you publish must be:

  • The financial support is granted to fully open articles, when the journal is included in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) database, as well as to open articles in hybrid journals, in which only some articles are Open Access.
  • indexed by the Web of Science Core Collection database
  • ranked with a non-zero Article Influence Score and also ranked in quartiles Q1 or Q2 at least in one field according to the Impact Factor
  • the article is published under a Creative Commons license
  • full terms and conditions of the Fund HERE (in Czech)

Request for Open Access fund

 

Enclose these attachments (PDF or JPG) with your request:

  • a statement from the editors confirming acceptance of the article for publication,
  • documentation of the editorial office's request for payment of the fee,
  • a title page of the accepted manuscript with the authors and their affiliations, including the affiliation of the corresponding author,
  • approval of the submission of the request by the person responsible for the Research, Development and Innovation of the faculty or department where the requester is employed (email).
